Basic Kimono Measurements : How to determine the Sode-tsuke

Have you ever thought about the Sode-tsuke measurement? 
It is one of the very important measurement to create a feminine drape.
I am describing kimono measurements , especially what concept based on determines the Sode-tsuke measurement.

What is the Sode-tsuke

The part of the sleeve that is sewn to the body is called “Sodetsuke”.
Basically, both the front and back sleeves are sewn with the same size. (See the diagram below)

Basic Sode-tsuke measurement

For women: 22.5cm
For men: 38cm-45cm (depending on the height)

Basically, both the front and back sleeves are sewn with the same size.
The Sode-tsuke dimensions may vary between the front and back body sides. This is called a “Sode-tsuke-no tsuke-chigai “.

What idea based on

Based on what concept are the Sode-tsuke measurement determined?
It has to do with the position of the obi.

If the obi is in a higher position, the Sode-tsuke length will be shorter,
and if the obi is in a lower position, the Sode-tsuke length will be longer.

For example, in the case of Furisode, the Sode-tsuke length is around 19cm~20cm.
